Group Lesson:
We have Year 4 group classes at Harris Academy Purley and Harris, Sutton. We
also have online classes for Year 4. The Year 4 classes run on all days of the week
and weekends.
Year 4 group lessons are run by other well experienced and friendly teachers (fully
D.B.S checked) based on lesson plans and homework provided by Mrs Pillai.
Every child will have to attend a minimum of one weekly session of 2 hours. Classes
are held in groups of 10 – 12 students who are split into groups based on their levels
of ability. Weekly lessons will last 2 hours. There are other optional classes like
paper classes and support classes, verbal and non-verbal reasoning classes that
take place every week. There will also be additional lessons held in half-terms and
holidays which will not be mandatory. Brief feedback can be given after every weekly
lesson but detailed feedback is given once a month.
Fees are £24 per hour, £48 per 2 hour session. Fees are payable monthly in
advance by bank transfer or using childcare vouchers as we are OFSTED
registered.
There is an additional monthly fee of £24.99 per month for the detailed marking and
feedback of creative writing. This is paid as a PayPal subscription using a discount
code to www.learn2write.co.uk
Classes commence from September and run through half-terms and school holidays.
Year 4 groups will get Christmas and New Year holidays off and one week of Easter
off along with 6 weeks in the Summer holidays.
The syllabus covers Year 4 and 5 of KS2 in English and Maths. The aim is to get the
students to as close to a Year 5 level by the end of Year 4.
Homework is set through Dropbox by email after every session. Year 4 students can
expect to receive homework that will take them 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week to
complete. This will include Maths, a writing task and/or comprehension every week.
The groups will have term-exams at the end of each term along with an end of year
exam. Exam results and detailed feedback are provided by email.
